After completing her law studies, Catrina Luchsinger Gähwiler began her career in 1992 as a junior associate at an international law firm in Zurich. She then worked for an extended period at the Meilen District Court and passed the Zurich bar exam in early 1995. From 1995 to 1997, she served as an assistant to Prof. Dr. Peter Forstmoser at the University of Zurich, where she also completed her doctoral dissertation on the topic of The Distribution of Fund Units.
Starting in 1997, she practiced law in Zurich, and from 2000 to 2024, she worked at a large, internationally oriented law firm, where she became a partner in 2007 and served as Managing Partner from 2012 to 2016. As of January 1, 2025, she is a partner at Barandun Legal & Tax.
Her areas of expertise include financing transactions, capital markets law, and financial markets regulation. She is a member of the International Bar Association and serves on the board of the International Pacific Bar Association based in Tokyo.
